Visiting Lake Sebu

Mystic Lake Sebu, South Cotabato Philippines

This 3,981.38 sq.km. mystical aquatic beauty is located around 3,000 feet above sea-level in the town of Lake Sebu, Province of South Cotabato, Philippines. The town is popularly known as the summer capital of southern Philippines as the forests surrounding the lake keep the temperature low anytime of the year.

The lake has been a bountiful source of tilapia for local residents - the indigenous group called Tibolis. Fish cages float in many parts of the lake, an aquaculture style that keeps the fish from touching the lake soil and gives the fish a clean taste. Exciting activities while in the place include boating and fishing in the lake, shopping for locally weaved and colorful fabric "tinalak" and zip line riding.
